One of the bands I never thought I’d be interviewing would be Judge.
This is another special interview for me and I was stoked when Mike said he’d be up for doing it.
Thanks to Aga Hairesis and Jeff Lasich for some of the photography.
And Adam Lentz at Rev For some of the flyer scans.

2015 HONORABLE MENTIONS

by Jean

(part 2 of my personal 2015 top releases)

Here’s part 2 of my 2015 top releases.
I decided to articulate the remaing parts of this classification in no specific order, but three different rankings including:
1): hardcore/punk/metal (the one you’re about to read)
2): 90s indie/post-punk/garage,
3): the outsiders (I will publish these columns in several weeks I guess. First because I think the entire subject would be too “massive” otherwise, and also because I have a pretty busy schedule these days!)

Although it’s early 2016 and I’m sure you’ve already dug into 90% of these releases I wanted to share these words with you, especially these lines dealing with non-hardcore releases because some of the bands/artists involved in this column agreed to tell me their thoughts about their production and their connexions with hardcore punk. I’d like to thank them for their contribution to this column. Thanks to all the other bands mentionned here for the great work they did.

REFLECT (Manchester) MINIVIEW

I guess you already purchased JUDGE “Bringin’ It Down” and TURNING POINT “1988-1991” reissues. If so, please check this online demo (and download it for 1£) I discovered like a week ago. REFLECT hails from Manchester and their 4 songs demo is just great, in the vein of the two bands I was previously dealing with, I mean angry and melancholic straight edge tracks. Paolo (vocals) agreed to answer to a few question for DROIDxRAGE. Enjoy!

David Wood – Down To Nothing.

By ED

revst141

I guess I wanted to interview David for a while now so I managed to catch up with him fresh from their recent Japan tour with Bane.

He is also in another Hardcore band we all know Terror.

Big Thanks to Takuma – @Takumagg for the pictures all taken in Japan.

We all live in this caste system……..

burn1

About a week before they were going to announce this year’s lineup for Black N Blue Bowl, I started to hear a rumor that of all the possible reunions this year, it was actually Burn who was going to be reforming. Hoping it was true but expecting the ever infamous rumor mill that is the interweb to once again play tricks on me, I was floored when BNB announced that it was indeed going to be happening. Then the disappointment of living 2200 miles away set in and the realization that I wouldn’t be there to witness one of the best bands of its era reunite. So I did what any zine dude would do…I hit up Gavin and hoped he would take time out of his busy day to day life and talk about this milestone in NYHC. Lucky for me he did, and now I have this to share with you. For those of you lucky enough to be going this year all I can say is, take some pics I can use in the next issue! For the rest of you I give you the results of that interview. Photos by Todd Pollock (Thanks for saving the day)

An Interview With Alfredo Gutierrez Of Forced Order, Soul Search, Fury And More… Part 1.

By Ed

I don’t really think anybody that listens to modern Hardcore hasn’t heard of either Soul Search, Fury Or Forced Order, even Whats Good. So here’s an interview with a dude heavily involved in the Hardcore scene, who’s in two bands that are signed to Rev and with numerous tours under his belt in Europe and beyond…
