TIME TO HEAL

I’d like to thank Klas from GIVE TODAY for sending over TIME TO HEAL bandcamp!
This is some really ORIGINAL YOUTH CREW from Stockholm, Sweden. I was really happy to discover them and I wish to listen to a lot of bands like this one in a near future!

COMBATANT

COMBATANT 2015 demo came out fall 2015 and I wasn’t able to cop one of these awesome tapes back at the time, to be honest I just ordered a copy from S&A because I got in touch with Tyler who sings in the band and it reminds me that I did not own a copy yet. This is a tape I really like. This is definitly some kind of straightforward hardcore punk for those who share the same tastes than me, these six songs are sharpened as fuck and without compromise, with an old school vibe. I was pretty curious about what Tyler could tell me about his band because there’s not much info on the Internet, hope you’ll like this!

SPLITKNUCKLE

SPLITKNUCKLE is the very first hardcore/beatdown band I’ve been listening to in AGES. I must admit I really dislike this kind of music but I was surprised by the among of people linked with UKHC bands mentionned in DROIDxRAGE, some of them have already answered to interviews here, who seemed to be fond of this band. That’s the main reason I wanted to ask them a few questions, and also because this EP “Nothing Left Unsaid” is a pretty cool record!

AXIS

interview with Dylan (guitar)

by Jean

AXIS reminds me what was very popular when I got into hardcore in the early 00s. Something really chaotic, similar to metal but flirting with different emotions, bands like CONVERGE or COALESCE were at their peak at that time and dozens of bands all around the world were trying – unsuccessfully if you want my opinion – to copy ’em. I’m not anymore in that kind of music but I’ve seen many blogs and people sharing this record on social networks and it TO-TAL-LY rips! Check it out!

A tribute to 1988 + interview = VISUAL DISCRIMINATION

by Jean

Recently I was checking the list of  1988 records I fill from time to time to write my “A tribute to 1988” columns and, by a curious quirk of fate, it happened that we got an e-mail from Tim Sawyer, singer of Los Angeles/Orange County based VISUAL DISCRIMINATION, a band which had released in 1988 a top LP on Nemesis Records titled “Step Back And Listen” I was actually very keen on reviewing and explain why this very specific record is important to me.

@eyehatelucas interview!

by Jean.

This is the first issue of my “@interview” serie.
I decided to interview the people I like to follow on Instagram.
And Lucas Anderson’s the first person I wanted to have a chat with for different reasons: he’s a musician, he collects OG records, t-shirts and video-games and he’s a photographer.

Enjoy!

Connor Jones – Direct Impact

By Ed

DI Logo

Im really feeling the Direct Impact demo but then I’m a fan of most of the Moshers Delight stuff.

Dropped Conner a line to see what was up and get to know a bit more about DI.

Simple as that really … don’t sleep on this!

DISXEASE interview

by Jean

Ola a todos!

If you’re into catchy and aggressive late 80s straight edge bands, Sao Paulo’s DISXEASE was definitly formed to satisfy your ears and your mosh pit urges! Their first LP – “The End”, released on True Spirit Records, Criminal Rights Records and Strength In Hate Records – is a killer one, and that’s the main reason why I wanted to introduce ’em to DROIDxRAGE .

I assume to be quite ignorant about Brazil hardcore scene, that’s pretty much what this interview’s actually about : to satisfy my own curiosity and worldwide hardcore knowledge!
